Twitter

Hi Girls!

I really am sorry I haven't felt much like blogging lately! But for those of you who want to keep in touch, I just joined twitter! https://twitter.com/anngie519 (yes, there are two 'n' in my username bc someone else took mine), hmph!

It's much easier for me to chat through e-mail, twitter than some other communication channels.
So find me, so that I can find you! ;)

I miss you girls! Hopefully I'll be up and running again soon!

Long overdue swap with Yumeko!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been away. Hopefully I'll be all caught up with everyone soon! I'm frightened to open my Google Reader to see how many unread feeds I have! Probably 800+ >.<

Thanks to everyone for leaving sweet messages and checking up on me! Yes I'm talking to you Cheryl, Sarah, and Songling! =) I love you girls!
I've been suffering from awful allergies! Anyone in the NW agree with me?! The pollen and dust have been dreadful this year. My skin is still acting up too.

Here are some quickie updates as to what's new with me and what I've been doing:

- I have successfully cut down my shopping! Typically I would have spent 5x the amount I spent last month! haha. I haven't been to the mall for a month! =) hahhaa. Whenever my mom goes to the Nordstrom makeup counters, they ask her where I've been! >.<
- My only kinda large purchase was from Imomoko (Kevin Beautymaker Q10 foundation, Kevin Beautymaker Shakeup Foundation, and Kevin Beautymaker lipstick in 5). They added a lot more stuff! I want to try the sunscreen!
(I like the shakeup foundation better than Q10 though coverage is light/medium and not really buildable as it claims. And the lipstick is mediocre. Pigmentation is lacking, but the formula is nice. And prices are cheap!)
- I started cooking again =)
- I'm having itchy skin, as usual, and have a bunch of small annoying bumps on my neck.. seems to be a whole bunch of clogged pores, on my neck..! I use scrubs.. I swear.
- My face is suffering from what I think is cystic acne (the 1st time in my life!).
- Just realized P&J Moisture Lotion has alcohol in it. That might be causing some of my problems, haha.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yumeko and I both picked out some items we wanted from the swap (shortly after the new year began.. I think).

A face mask and some cute nail files!! You know.. I was just thinking since I'm always chipping away the corners of my nails I DO need to keep a nail file in my purse! haha

3x Fancl HTC Collagen tablets! Don't the packages look beautiful!? haha
You take 6 a day. I've only taken it for like a week so far. Will let you guys know!

The new Kose Clear Turn Hyalornic Acid masks.
These are the ones that you can use daily.

The Esprique palette I asked for, True Impact Eyes T-1! It's a gorgeous palette!
And she tossed in an extra palette! I'm not sure what brand it is but the colors are super pretty and soft! =)

DHC Acerola Lotion. This doesn't contain alcohol. I've reverted to this instead of P&J Moisture Lotion.

Extras =).
Yummy candies (black packaging is black sugar (raw sugar?). It's super yummy. Saving the rest so far =P haha. I'm weird with candies!
Cute nail polishes, dark one is BR306 by Etude House and pink is by Dear Laura? Same company that makes Eternal.
And a pretty hair tie!

Totally my type of colors! =)

And here I am modeling Audrie's beautiful blue crystal briolette earrings! They match my shirt ;)
Go visit here jewelry page!

Hope that's enough cam whoring to make up for my absence! ;)

Contest for 20% off code from Beautyhabit!

apples: "thank u ! i will def. try the nars! I tried the Paul and joe whitening emulsion but it irritated my skin. I started get itchy and red bumps all over my face! eekk I hope nars works out! thanks again"

Awww I'm sorry that happened to you! I got the new verison of the the P&J serum. It's called "whitening serum" instead of "whitening emulsion" now. But I doubt you'll want to risk a reaction again. =T.
Remember to be consistent and persistent. You won't see results right away! I didn't notice the results until someone made me pause and think about it. Hahhaa. I always get new zits >.<
Oh and Nars actually has a serum that may give you similar results too! I've never tried it though.
You may also want to check out Dior's Diorsnow line!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been receiving 20% off Beautyhabit coupon codes with every Beautyhabit purchase and after exhausting myself over the last 2, I've decided there isn't anything I really want at the moment. So I figured it would be nice of me to give it to someone else to use! =)
Beautyhabit features some real awesome brands like Paul & Joe Beaute, L'occitane, Decleor, Dr. Hauschka, Jurlique, Komenuka Bijin, L'Amande, and Yu-be. They offer free shipping on orders of $100+, otherwise standard ground is $5.95. I believe they do ship internationally. And only Californians have to pay sales tax.

I've always gotten awesome service with Beautyhabit. You can include 3 sample requests in the comment box upon ordering, and they ship out relatively quick. Many Paul & Joe items may be on backorder which can take a while to ship out. Go to their website for more details!

Okay so here are the details:

The coupon code is a one-time use only code! It expires May 31!

What you must do to be entered:

1. Be a follower of mine (check top of left hand bar).
2. Leave a comment to THIS post.
3. In your comment tell me what product you've been really into recently, esp for spring/summer. OR tell me what I should cook next! Link me to a recipe if you can!
(you can answer both if you want!)

The contest will end on May 25 (5 days total), that way whoever wins has plenty of time to contemplate a purchase =).

Depending on comment quality (=P), I might pick a winner based off of comments, or I might just use a random drawing generator.

And I must request the winner make a purchase so I can oogle over the goodies! hahha, jk.

I'll be e-mailing the winner the purchase code.

Goodluck everyone! =)

La Mer Powder Foundation! + Sephora 10%

Cybele: "Your blog is soo helpful. Can you recommend a good eye cream for moisturizing and fine lines? thanks"

Thanks!! I try, haha.
Hmm I just started using Dior's Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Eye Treatment. It's a serum-type eye cream. It's quite moisturizing and has helped with theses teeeeny fine lines I've developed. I find it also does keep my dark circles at bay. I'm quite happy thus far.
I did get some samples of the Paul and Joe Eye Treatment and I do like it! I don't think it'll do much for fine lines, but it is moisturizing!
Imo most good eye creams that help with wrinkles are quite moisturizing so you should focus on finding one that works on wrinkles (bc I think it'll be moisturizing).
Some people even layer on a moisturizing eye cream on top of another one. Hope that helps! =)

Apples: "hi...I was wondering how your NARS lightening cream was working out for you? Have you seen improvements? also will it help lighten up my summer tan?"

I do love my NARS Lightening Cream. You are only suppose to use it at night. I think it works wonderfully at evening out the skintone, fading scars and any hyper-pigmentation but since it's a heavy cream it may not be suitable for all seasons. I like it most in the fall/winter. Recently I'm scared it's too heavy for me so I've been using whitening serums such as Paul & Joe's Whitening Serum or Kose Shirosumi. I only apply them at night before my moisturizer.
Yes it will lighten up your summer tan, but a serum might work better, esp in warmer climates.
I've gotten plenty of new scars, so I'm working on those now haha. My old scars have faded pretty well though.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, I know 10% is nothing! But nonetheless Sephora is having a 10% off coupon valid for the rest of this week, ending May 26th. Enter code YG85P at sephora.com. It says for 1st time purchases only, but it should work for everyone as far as I know.

Even though La Mer's skincare failed on my skin =(, the fluid foundation was just mediocre, and the tinted moisturizer is alright, I want to try the new powder foundation! hahaha. Maybe it's because of the upcoming summer months, but I really want to give this a go.

I have been slacking I know, but I have finally been using the Benefit Hello Flawless powder foundation more recently and though it looks AWESOME heading out the door, and the coverage is really damn good, it makes me oily SO quick! I look more oily with Hello Flawless than I do with P&J's FLUID foundation! >.< though ="(.">

Anyways, back on topic...

La Mer's new powder foundation retails for $95 at fine department stores.

According to the La Mer website

This luxurious, lightweight powder foundation may be applied to create uniquely flexible coverage. Gemstones capture light energy to create a translucent color palette, optically erasing imperfections to reveal a naturally flawless complexion. An exclusive Radiant Ferment works continuously to add visible clarity and brightness, revealing a more luminous appearance.

This versatile powder foundation is ideal for natural, long-lasting coverage and simple touch-ups over any other Skincolor foundation.

As with most powder foundations you can build up coverage as desired from light to full. Available in eight shades.

Looks promising right? Might be worth a try =) hehe.

To make up for my slacking, here's a better photo of me right now for the tag that's been going around =P

I look I'm making a "eww, yuck" face. But that's just how I look when I smile w/no teeth =P

A photo my 4 yr kid (whom I use to care for) from Seattle (who was visiting) took of me haha.
